CORRECTION OF AN ARTICLE

The Editor of REE&PQJ is disposed to the correction of one published article, regardless of the number of years since the article was published, if the Editor-in-Chief consider that the proposed changes are only minor (eg, a presentation error of the methods used, and administrative error, etc, COPE). In any case, it is necessary to take into account that the errors don’t invalidate the study, but frequently they need a new round of peer review. In that case, it might be addresses with a correction notice.

RETRACTION OF AN ARTICLE

If the error are major that invalidate the study (eg, a practical mistake in execution of the methods, errors due to manipulation or negligence, etc) which produce a deviation too far from the original research idea of the article, then in that cases it’s necessary to apply the retraction of the article.

See: COPE´s RETRACTION GUIDELINES

REEPQJ will publish, as soon as possible, the notices of retraction link with the retracted article.

The purpose of retraction is to correct the article and ensure its integrity, not to punish the authors. Of course, that the authors could choose to submit a new article to REEPQJ.

For REEPQJ is doesn’t matter if the errors were honest mistakes or not, but rather with their impact on the reability of the article and its finding.

AI-GENERATED MANUSCRIPTS

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) has opened many opportunities and potentials. AI facilitates to create text, images, video, audio, software code, etc. However, this technology is not without faults and errors that can invalidate the article’s conclusions (eg, gross mistakes in theory and fundamentals in the field, faulty summaries of past work, muddled interpretation, unclear opinion, or faulty assumption that may or may not affect the argumentation leading to the conclusion, COPE) and should be used responsibly and transparently to preserve research integrity, reliability and accuracy of the results. The use of AI tools in research calls for accountability and human oversight throughout the entire lifecycle of the research, including the final output in the form of a published article.

If the authors use AI in their work, they should transparently declare its use in the appropriate section of the manuscript,

providing as many details as necessary to ensure transparent disclosure and, on the other side, REEPQJ permit to use AI to correct language editing errors.

On the other side, AI detection tools are not infallible and the results must be interpreted by the editors and reviewers and the Editor-in-Chief can decide
to retract the article if he has not confidence in the results and conclusion of the work.
